River Event Filming at Syon Reach
Specialist over-water river event filming at Syon Reach for marine engineering, logistics, and creative media.
Recent Work
Selected work from across London and the Thames.
Flying at Syon Reach means working over moving water, tidal range and live vessel traffic. Projects run from a two-hour tide window to a scheduled programme across a construction phase. Small jobs are welcome; a single vessel pass is as valid a brief as a week of coverage.
We survey the Syon Reach bank and the water in advance to fix take-off, landing and contingency points. Capture is in RAW throughout, leaving headroom for grading or photogrammetric processing. Where bank access is restricted, we scout the approach before the crew and kit arrive.
Notices to mariners are checked before any Syon Reach flight, and radio watch is kept during it. Crews are water-safety trained as well as CAA-licensed. Privacy on the bank is considered in the flight plan, not left to the edit.
Deliverables come in the format your editorial or engineering team already works in. Send us the dates and the shot list and we will tell you which tides are viable. Most enquiries get a same-day response.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much notice do you need for river work at Syon Reach?
More than for a land-based shoot, because PLA notification and the tide table both constrain the date. A week or two is comfortable; tell us the deadline and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable.
Can you launch drones directly from boats at Syon Reach?
Yes. Through our partnership with Cinecraft we have access to MCA-coded workboats and support vessels, and our pilots are experienced in launching and recovering from a moving deck.
How do you manage wind and weather on the river?
The Thames corridor funnels wind and can be considerably rougher than the surrounding streets. We work to maritime forecasts and fly platforms rated to around 25 knots, so a marginal day does not automatically cost you the shoot.
