Drone Mapping in RM15

RM15 is inside our regular patch, so drone mapping there is a short mobilisation rather than a special arrangement.

Our drone mapping work in RM15 spans everything from single-shoot jobs to repeat site visits. Jobs come in from main contractors, subcontractors and the client side directly. We quote per job rather than from a rate card, because sites differ more than services do.

An aerial set of the site gives you context that a street-level photograph loses. London airspace is not uniform, and RM15 has its own constraints to work around. Clients in RM15 often have sites elsewhere in Romford, and we can cover both on one mobilisation.

We assess the RM15 location in advance, on foot or from mapping, before any aircraft leaves the case. Everything is captured at the highest quality the job can actually use. Our risk assessments are written to be read, not to tick a box.

Where compliance evidence is needed for a planning or insurance file, we supply it. Edited video, stills, orthomosaics and inspection reports follow within 24 to 48 hours. The same pilot who plans the RM15 job is usually the one who flies it.

The river edge of RM15 is a different operating problem to the streets behind it. Tides move the working surface, vessels move through the shot, and the Port of London Authority needs telling in advance. All three are routine parts of our planning here.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much notice do you need for a booking in RM15?

A few days is comfortable for most RM15 sites, and we can often cover urgent work at shorter notice. Jobs needing NATS or ATC coordination, or access to a restricted site, need longer, and we will flag that as soon as we see the brief.

Can you work around a live site in RM15?

Yes. We plan around access routes, working hours and pedestrian movement, and can schedule flights for quieter windows to keep ground risk down. Cordons and marshalling are agreed in advance rather than arranged on the day.

What do we actually receive at the end?

That depends on the brief: graded video, high-resolution stills, orthomosaic maps, 3D models or an inspection report. Raw capture is handed over on the day and finished output follows by secure cloud transfer.
