Centimetre-accurate UAV photogrammetry survey and 3D point cloud generation for a key NHS healthcare building in East London, commissioned by Bidston Draughting Ltd.

UAS London was commissioned by Bidston Draughting Ltd to deliver a highly accurate 3D point cloud and UAV drone survey of an NHS healthcare facility in East London. Our team worked closely with Jack Bidston, the Director of Bidston Draughting Ltd, to capture the detailed structural geometry required for subsequent architectural drafting, drawing compilation, and BIM model generation. Operating in East London's highly congested and restricted airspace requires meticulous pre-flight planning and regulatory coordination. We secured all necessary clearances to deploy our advanced DJI Matrice 4E aerial platform. Fitted with high-resolution mapping payloads and RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) positioning sensors, the Matrice 4E captured over 1,500 sub-centimetre precision images across the facility's facades, rooftops, and structural details. On-site operations were executed seamlessly, using a combination of the Matrice 4E drone and field laptops to verify real-time data coverage and overlap as the flight progressed. The captured photogrammetric data was then processed, registered, and aligned in our specialized processing software to generate a high-density, georeferenced 3D point cloud. The resulting digital twin provided Bidston Draughting Ltd with a complete, millimetre-accurate spatial record of the NHS building, eliminating the need for expensive scaffolding or manual measurement surveys.
