Drone Mapping in DA8

We fly drone mapping throughout DA8, planned and permitted before the crew arrives on site.

Our drone mapping work reaches every part of DA8. Enquiries come from marketing teams, site managers, agents and private owners alike. Deliverables can be split across several recipients where the client team is spread out.

A drone reaches vantage points in DA8 that scaffolding and cherry pickers cannot justify. We have flown enough of London to know where DA8 gets complicated. Clients in DA8 often have sites elsewhere in Dartford, and we can cover both on one mobilisation.

Each DA8 job is planned around the site itself: access, take-off points, overflight and people on the ground. Kit is chosen per brief, from sub-250g aircraft for tight spaces to RTK platforms for centimetre accuracy. Nothing is flown until the paperwork and the brief agree with each other.

Our permissions and £10M public liability cover apply to all work in DA8. You get the raw capture on the day and finished deliverables within a couple of days. Feedback on a first cut is included rather than billed as a revision.

The river edge of DA8 is a different operating problem to the streets behind it. Tides move the working surface, vessels move through the shot, and the Port of London Authority needs telling in advance. All three are routine parts of our planning here.

Because DA8 is adjacent to the River Thames, operations here may require specialist maritime knowledge. We coordinate with the Port of London Authority (PLA) and provide highly experienced river skippers when required.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much notice do you need for a booking in DA8?

A few days is comfortable for most DA8 sites, and we can often cover urgent work at shorter notice. Jobs needing NATS or ATC coordination, or access to a restricted site, need longer, and we will flag that as soon as we see the brief.

Can you work around a live site in DA8?

Yes. We plan around access routes, working hours and pedestrian movement, and can schedule flights for quieter windows to keep ground risk down. Cordons and marshalling are agreed in advance rather than arranged on the day.

Do you need us to close anything off while you fly?

Usually not. Most jobs are flown with a small cordon around the take-off point and sensible separation from people on the ground. Where a site genuinely needs more, we will tell you at the planning stage rather than on the morning.
