Thames Towage Filming in Battersea

Specialist over-water thames towage filming at Battersea for marine engineering, logistics, and creative media.

UAS London covers Battersea as part of our tidal Thames operating area. The work ranges from single vessel shoots to multi-day coverage of marine civil projects. We can attend a pre-start or toolbox meeting where the project requires one.

We survey the Battersea bank and the water in advance to fix take-off, landing and contingency points. Output can be broadcast-ready ProRes, high-bitrate RAW, or georeferenced survey data. Kit is checked ashore before anything is committed over water.

Any Battersea operation is logged with the river authorities before the crew arrives. All river flights are logged and the records remain available for your own compliance file. Moorings, houseboats and riverside residents are given notice where the operation warrants it.

Rushes can go out the same evening where a broadcast deadline requires it. Send us the dates and the shot list and we will tell you which tides are viable. If the tides do not work for your deadline, we will tell you rather than string it out.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you manage wind and weather on the river?

The Thames corridor funnels wind and can be considerably rougher than the surrounding streets. We work to maritime forecasts and fly platforms rated to around 25 knots, so a marginal day does not automatically cost you the shoot.

Are you insured for flying over water?

Yes. We carry £10M public liability insurance written to cover over-water operations, and can provide the certificate along with our CAA authorisation and a job-specific risk assessment before booking.

How much notice do you need for river work in Battersea?

More than for a land-based shoot, because PLA notification and the tide table both constrain the date. A week or two is comfortable; tell us the deadline and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable.
