Close aerial inspection of domestic pitched roofs, recording tile condition, moss growth, valleys and chimney stacks without scaffolding or a ladder.

A homeowner is usually told their roof needs work by somebody standing in the road looking up, or by somebody who has already put a ladder against the gutter. Neither gives you a picture you can look at afterwards, and neither shows you the parts that actually fail: the valley between two pitches, the flaunching on the stack, the courses where moss has taken hold and started lifting tiles. This survey recorded all of it in about twenty minutes on site. The frames are flown square on to each plane so the tile courses stay straight and you can count them, and close enough that a slipped or cracked tile is obvious without anybody interpreting it for you. The practical point is that this costs less than the scaffold you would otherwise need before anyone could even give you a quote, and it produces evidence you can send to a roofer, an insurer or a managing agent. Only the roof is published here. Frames that included gardens, cars, neighbouring windows or anything that would identify the address were left out.
