Regain (IMO 9167992) is a dedicated tugboat operated by Cory Group on the River Thames in London. Built in 1996 and operating since 1997, it is specifically used to transport waste containers from riverside transfer stations to their energy-from-waste facility in Belvedere. Regain is part of a vital river fleet that removes significant commercial traffic from London roads. UAS London was tasked with capturing the Regain towing barges up and down the Thames. Showcasing these industrial operations safely requires strict adherence to operating protocols and data collection standards. We maintained safe standoff distances while utilising long lenses to capture the intricate details of the logistics and the raw power of the vessel without interrupting the workflow. We continue to document Cory's river fleet in action, including the sister tug Resolute hauling fully loaded container barges through central London, imagery that showcases the scale of the Thames waste-by-river operation.
