End of Tideway Tow – FPV + Cinematic Filming

High-speed FPV and cinematic tracking of a historic final tow operation along the River Thames for CPBS Marine Services.

Founded in 2002, CPBS Marine Services has grown from a modest fleet into a respected marine operator based out of Temple Pier in Central London. With a versatile fleet of multicats, tugs, and workboats, they execute complex marine operations across the UK. We were tasked with capturing the historic final tow of the vessel “Shakedog” as it navigated down the Thames, towing a crane barge through central London. This project required a blend of precise FPV piloting and cinematic long-lens work to document both the scale and significance of the operation from multiple perspectives. Operating in one of the most complex and restricted airspaces in the UK, we secured full flight permissions from NATS to conduct drone operations safely within central London. The shoot demanded tight coordination with the CPBS marine crews to ensure safe vessel proximity, while maintaining dynamic, immersive tracking shots that showcase the power and movement of the tow against the iconic London backdrop.
